Great website! I really need your help. I just had my dog put under to have her teeth cleaned! How traumatic for her. I’m never doing it again. I am determined to brush her teeth every day. Not having seen your dog, I cannot make specific recommendations. However, for my own dogs, I use turkey and duck necks as AM meals, and they clean teeth nicely. Note that they must be fed raw. A small dog might do better with chicken necks. I feed necks 3-4 days a week. I do not brush my dogs’ teeth.
I also use marrow bones for chewing. I boil them for 5-10 minutes so I can push the marrow out. They are very hard, and hold up to eager chewers. See http://www.thewholisticvet.com/MakingBones.html
